In his letter to his brother Theo, Vincent van Gogh wrote, "I’ve also just finished a canvas of pink roses against the yellow-green background in a green vase." His pink roses are now white due to his favorite color Geranium Lake. I painted some of the roses pink and left some white, then added the geranium lake paint tube as my homage to Vincent.
