In my homage painting to Vincent van Gogh, I took inspiration from his love for the color "Geranium Lake," which unfortunately faded to a grayish white over time. Similarly, the pink background of his Irises also transformed into a white hue. To honor van Gogh's original vision, I recreated the vibrant pink background in my rendition of the Irises. Vincent was known for his keen interest in complementary color combinations, in this painting, red and green. Additionally, the book "Van Gogh's Flowers" showcases another version of Irises on its cover, providing further insight into Van Gogh's artistic repertoire and the enduring fascination with his floral works.
