On Hold
This started out as me trying out oils and cold wax. I am a brand new newbie at it. Well, I got to a point where I was scraping, painting, waxing, etc, and feeling frustrated because it didn't look like anything. So instead of wasting all that stuff, I decided to paint something, ANYTHING on it. I went right to my default comfort zone- an imaginary bird. I just went nuts with layers of paint for this bird over the oil and wax background. I ended up loving it! As I was cleaning up, I noticed something. Something not real good. On a table next to where I was painting, were my acrylics. I had grabbed my tube of white ACRYLIC paint for the bird😳. All that beautiful texture (see second picture) is acrylic paint, mixed with, and painted on top of, oil and wax! Yikes. So I decided that this could be fun to wait and watch. This was 2-3 months ago, and no cracking or weirdness yet. Lesson to be learned? Keep my different mediums separated in my studio😎. This started out as me trying out oils and cold wax.
