This little piece takes me back to when I painted a lot of chiaroscuro (light and shadow) pieces. Since then I've played the field with high key, low key and mid key paintings. That said, I still gravitate to the mystery and drama of a low key painting like this one. Fun to paint. Interesting to get lost in. Who knows?
