Sonoran Cactus Study 3 9 x 12 Oil on panel Plein Air 11-15-2022 Plein Air McDowell Gateway Loop Scottsdale Arizona All accessed by hiking with my 35 pound plein air backpack. My objective with these studies was the Saguaro Cactus with a mountain background. The sun was usually behind me. I was emphasizing, actually pushing the limits of, lighter close values, secondary colors and muted grays; trying to bring forward on to the canvas the autumn desert atmosphere, grittiness, smell. Signed, not varnished. It really looks good in a black or gold frame. I can add a quality plein air frame at extra cost. I am an award wining artist.
