Media: Oil on gallery wrapped canvas
Size: 6x6 in
How much color and paint can fit on a tiny canvas? About this much 😊 Turbulent clouds, warm yellow and red rays from the sun, with only the slightest hint of the tree line and ground below to anchor the sky. I used a 1/2” Simmons Titanium brush and an Oakblade palette knife to lend a big, loose feel to this little painting. “Red and Yellow” is a 6” X 6” oil painting on 1 1/2” deep gallery wrapped canvas. It will be well packed for shipping and arrive ready to hang. *** I’m a Texas based artist finding inspiration in the everyday beauty of the world. I’ve been a public-school teacher for 20+ years (say a prayer for me.) I’m also a musician, a husband, a father, and an animal lover. I’ve been fortunate over the years to show my paintings at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, the Museum of East Texas, the Dishman Art Museum, the Museum of the Gulf Coast, and the Mesquite Arts Center as well as in galleries throughout the country. My solo show “The Wild World of Mark Nesmith” opens at the Longview Museum of Fine Arts in May 2022. My paintings have appeared in American Art Collector, Art Reveal Magazine, the Austin Chronicle, the Dallas Observer, Empty Easel, Professional Artist Magazine, VIP, Voyage, and more. I’m honored to have paintings in homes and collections in thirty states in the U.S. and hope to one day have paintings in all Fifty Nifty United States and overseas.
