A plein air watercolor while on one of our regular vacations in mid-cast Maine. We rented a shack on the St John River near Pemiquid. It had a huge dock that was regularly used by the owner's son to moor his lobster boat and stop his traps. Every morning we were awakened by the boat revving up at 5:00 to return later in the early afternoon when he would dump part of his catch in a submerged tub that was roped to the dock. He would let us help ourselves to fresh lobster at $5 a piece. We did this for like 5 years and its still one of own most memorable getaways.
