Painted cobra for the series Circle of Life - animals of Chinese Zodiac. I experimented with tight realism and no background approach. It meant, no marking outside of actual portrait and a disciplined rendering of the subject. A dark background is supposed to add elegance, power, and sophistication to this royalty of snake family. I used a reference image and matched colors closely to interpret the portrait of the snake. More pictures are available.
