A little oil study painted in a frame scrap, based off of Eugene Boudin’s The Beach at Trouville (~1887-96). I had the pleasure of viewing this beautiful plein air piece up close and personal yesterday at the French Moderns exhibit @verobeachmuseumofart. The whole gang was there—Monet, Cezanne, Pissarro, Corot, Courbet, Renoir, Morisot, Fantin- Latour, Bouguereau! Fantastique! Shout out to @brooklynmuseum for sending down these beautiful works.
