I started this painting on an idyllic morning during a wonderful, solitary week in Maine. (Thank you again, dear Sarah Lynn.) A few hours in, a fierce wind came up out of nowhere. I finished up painting with one hand and holding onto the painting for dear life with the other, after which I wrestled it back to my car, working to keep a grip on it long enough to get it into the trunk. I did, but barely. I started this painting on an idyllic morning during a wonderful, solitary week in Maine. (Thank you again, dear Sarah Lynn.) A few hours in, a fierce wind came up out of nowhere.
