This was painted in mid August! Yes, Oregon gets some rain in the summer. It wasn't too cold but the wind was stiff on the hillside where I set up my easel. That's why I usually paint small on location, larger canvases have gone airborne! I did a 2x3" value/composition sketch in pencil as I usually do.
