I was lucky to see this cedar waxwing on my walk. He or she would look carefully around, then quickly grab a berry and repeat! Some of their colouring actually comes from the red in the berries they eat. It's amazing to stand still and be able to photograph such beautiful birds. I feel like it's a peek into their life and I take that feeling into the pieces that I paint from this kind of reference photo.
