This painting was done some years ago from a photo I took at the Mercadona fish counter in La Linea, Spain and forms part of my “Andalucía” body of work. It has been part of my private collection for many years but as I have recently been painting a lot of fish, I felt it deserved a little outing and to be seen by others and is now part of the 51st International Art Exhibition in Gibraltar and on show until 16th November. The iridescent shiny blue and green tones that I could see in their flesh were a joyous subject matter for the colourist in me and I really enjoyed capturing these beauties with my impasto brushstroke 💙💚 This painting was done some years ago from a photo I took at the Mercadona fish counter in La Linea, Spain and forms part of my “Andalucía” body of work.
