Media: Oil on canvas
Size: 70x50 cm
This painting is currently on show and for sale at The International Art Fair at the Dockside Vaults in London. Please email me if you are interested in purchasing it. Catalan Bay, fondly known as “la Caleta” in Gibraltar has long served as a small fishing village which dates back as far as the 1600s. The wooden boats (Pateras) belong to families in the village, many who are of Genoese descent. It is a very colourful village and I was drawn to the warm Mediterranean colours of the walls and contrasting blue of the boat and the triangular shapes within the composition. I had fun creating the texture of the old walls too. This painting is currently on hold as it is going to an exhibition in London. A3 prints available - email for more information.
