This is a study done before tackling a large painting of the same scene. This viewpoint is in Benton City along the Yakima River of eastern Washington. The hills in the background are the Horse Heaven's and with their rolling, velvety terrain, show evidence of having been underwater many years during the Ice Age Floods so long ago. The fertile land nearby this river is rich with many lush vineyards. This is a study done before tackling a large painting of the same scene.
