I did a plein air version of this starting earlier in the afternoon. This time of day the sun direction and angle were changing so quickly as were the colors of the scene and shadows. As I was driving by on my way home the sun was sitting behind the trees with the sun just grazing the field in different areas. It seemed a lot more interesting so I took a photograph and painted this from that photo. It is a much calmer experience when things aren't changing so quickly!!
