I took several of my sketchbook studies and put them together in this one painting. I recently started the sketchbook works to be able to paint directly from them instead of viewing something directly or from a photo. I paint in my sketchbook very quickly which forced me to stay loose when I enlarged them to a painting on canvas. It also helped me to be very familiar with the subject I was painting and to be able to put multiple images together easily.
