My son-in-law, living in Alaska at the time, found this juvenile raven on the ground. He picked him up, checked him out, fed him, and left him outside the house on the deck. He seemed to be okay, maybe he fell out of the nest and was unable to fly. After a couple of days he flew away. In my experience with crows all around my house I have found that they often hang out in family groups, three usually, and the young crows are with their parents for a long time. So in this painting the parents are there being watchful but not alarmed. They trust the caregiver with the young one.
