I never imagined I'd look back on the "early days" of the personal computer and wax nostalgic. After all, computers are the latest technology, right? The future. But since my teenage son urged me to buy the Alfa Data Optical Mouse (white one on the left), in the early '90s, so much has happened that it's difficult to ruminate on. But I can say that today both he and my daughter are highly respected computer software developers, I've enjoyed a career in digital advertising design, as well as teaching college courses in the same. And yet, I find myself longing for the "early days" of computers. It seems like Steampunk to me now.
