I've been painting for decades, but it was not until I went to Paris that I first used a limited palette. I took a few pastel chalks and colored pencils in primary colors, and had a great time. I even sold a small piece of art while there... now what artist doesn't want to sell a piece of art in Paris? Wonderful city.
