Size: 8x10 in
I cleaned my closet and found some paintings that I did a couple years ago. This is one that I did when I visited Fort Sisseton in northern South Dakota. The fort was active as a frontier outpost in the late 1800's and is very well preserved. I think that this building was the commander's home. They hold a very good historical festival there every June. I did this painting in thick oil paint on a 10x8 masonite board. I like using thick oil paint as it gives paintings a luscious texture that can’t be replicated in a print. This could easily be framed by placing it in a standard photo frame with the glass removed.
