There aren't too many of these old one room schoolhouses around anymore and the ones that are around are often in poor condition. I saw this one near Yankton, SD. I did this painting in thick oil paint on an 7x5 masonite board. I like using thick oil paint as it gives paintings a luscious texture that can’t be replicated in a print.
