This beautiful piece of art called Odessa sea is a watercolor painting that showcases the captivating beauty of the coastline. I often paint seascapes, beaches, sailboats, as in the summer I go to rest in resort places and paint right on the beach or on the pier. I draw paintings from nature, on plein air. Often, I paint my watercolor landscapes using the Ala Prima technique, in one step.

Seascape painting. I painted this rock painting with my friend in the open air in Odessa. Every summer I would come to visit her and we would go on plein air trips along the Black Sea coast and the marinas of Odessa. I remember that wonderful summer day, June, everything was blooming and fragrant, there were no people by the sea in the morning, you could only watch the waves of the sea and the silence of the small rocks. After the plein air, we fed the seagulls.

Cliffside Whispers is a delicate and exquisite watercolor that embodies the spirit of the seaside with the ease of a true plein air artist. The author uses the spontaneity of watercolor to convey the atmosphere of silence that reigns between the rocks and the sea, creating the impression of a moment captured in a breath. The coloring of the painting is reminiscent of Claude Monet's landscape experiments, and the light play is reminiscent of the late works of Camille Pissarro. But at the same time, one can feel an individual voice in this work - modern, intuitive, devoid of unnecessary details, as in the best examples of post-impressionism.
