This painting shows one glorious day in the life of an aged and dying group of plum trees. The trees are gone now, but they figure prominently in the landscape of my imagination, and I expect that more paintings will come. This particular painting represents a milestone for me, something of a 'break out' work that surprised me in the studio and delights me since I have the sense of finding myself in the process and in the painting. Painted on masonite with 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of gesso applied with a roller (a marvelous surface to paint on!). Actual dimensions are approx. 1/8" smaller than indicated.
