An assignment inspired this painting. I was participating in the Acrylic University's miniature acrylic painting challenge, and the assignment's topic was clouds. As soon as I heard it, I remembered this photo I had taken overlooking the sea in the west of Ireland. So, I painted this piece in addition to doing the assignment for the challenge. It captured one of the things we treasured doing when we lived in Ireland: driving through the beautiful countryside overlooking the ocean on an unusually bright day - letting the peace and beauty of the scene sink into my bones. I love the way the clouds drifting overhead create the feeling of movement in the painting. An assignment inspired this painting.
