Media: Watercolor on mixed media paper
Size: 9x12 in
I've been painting recently, but not posting for some reason. This is the piece that I just finished today. It's a 9 x 12" watercolor on mixed media paper that I'm calling "Joy Riding with Grandpa." It was inspired by something we saw on one of the rides we took around our county. We were on a back road in Mennonite farm country and we saw a couple of kids and their dogs being given a ride around the farm by their grandpa. He was pulling them on a farm wagon using his ride-on mower. The background of the image was just large green trees, so I changed it to be typical Lancaster County farm views. As I often do in my pictures, I also reimagined one of the children to be a little girl. I struggled initially getting the proportions right , but in the end, I really like the way it turned out. I hope you do too. I've been painting recently, but not posting for some reason. This is the piece that I just finished today.
