My Dad got a hold of this picture of him and my Uncle Dickie after he discovered it at my Uncle's funeral last year. I painted it for him by request and it hangs in his home. This one was the first attempt that wasn't going as well as I wanted at the time. I picked it back up this past fall and finished it, the second painting of this great subject. They are fishing for something off their makeshift pier at their childhood home in Portsmouth, VA on the Elizabeth River probably in the late 1950s to early 1960s.
