My father in law grew up among 6 older siblings on a farm in eastern North Carolina. He called this crop "corn field peas". They are similar to a black eyed peas. They were sometimes grown in a corn field, hence the name. They could be cooked fresh or dried and stored. I wonder what this lady was thinking as she saw the camera pointed at her.
