Media: Pen and ink plus watercolor on 140 lb arches watercolor paper.
Size: 7x5 in
I sat on an island deep in the heart of Algonquin Provincial Park in Canada and painted this directly. I used lake water to spread and mix the paint. This is what is called plein aire painting. I just came back from a backpacking/canoeing/portaging trip to Canada with my son. The hillside you see here is typical of the islands where we camped. This is the real thing. If you buy this painting and hold it up to your nose, you may be able to smell Canada.
