Inspired by the flowers at a local butterfly exhibit, this heavily textured mixed media painting was created by layering an acrylic palette knife painting with soft pastel. This piece won first place at the 2014 Southern California Fair (Miscellaneous Originals, Floral Division) and was also part of the San Diego County Fair Fine Art exhibit in 2014.
