This is a painting started en plein air at Belvoir Castle and finished in the studio due to the substantial rain that fell during and after this session. I love this composition and am pleased with how the colours capture how wet the landscape was this day but how there was also still plenty of light bleeding through the clouds. This was my first painting completed using the palette tray / wet panel holder I made the day before. It worked well so I was pleased with the weekend’s work.
