Rose Hill is a historic cemetery tucked into the hills of Black Diamond Mines, site of a once-thriving coal mining town and now a beautiful regional preserve in Northern California. I love the syncopated patterns of headstones and Cypress trees, and see their echoes in the gentle hills and vibrant sky. Acrylic on canvas in a maple floater frame.
