Valona is the historic heart of Crockett, a small town nestled into the hills beneath the Carquinez Bridge. The C&H sugar plant dominates the shoreline with a complex of brick buildings, smokestacks, pipelines, cranes, cargo ships and freight trains. It was fun painting this bustling industrial scene from across the Carquinez Strait, perched along the bluffs above Glen Cove in Vallejo.
