Topo Gigio was the lead character of a children’s puppet show on Italian television in the early 1960s. His name could be translated as Louie Mouse. He was just 10 inches tall and made 50 appearances on the Ed Sullivan show where he transformed Ed from “stiff” or “dull” to a much softer, playful man.
