A few years ago the soil next to one of our often traveled sidewalks was churned up when a new fence was put in. During the following weeks, a multitude of mushroom colonies appeared in that soil. This painting was inspired by one of those.
It looked a bit forsaken, though, so I gave it a population of creepy crawlies. How many can you spot?
