Since it took so long to finish the "Carousel Giraffe & MerCat" painting, I thought they deserved a story about them. I hope you enjoy an excerpt from the continuing saga of "Jeffy and Splotch." 'Jeffy, the tabby MerCat, thought today would be the perfect day to go on an adventure! He saddled up his trusty 'steed' Splotch, the carousel giraffe. Jeffy gripped the pole tightly as he and Splotch raced through the ocean current. "What do you suppose we'll find today?" Jeffy asked Splotch. "I don't know," replied Splotch. "Maybe the sea otters are resting on the kelp beds again. They're always ready for an adventure." Just as they turned to head to the kelp beds, Jeffy heard his mom calling for him. It was time for him to go home. Jeffy swam down from Splotch's back and hugged his neck. "Maybe tomorrow we'll get to visit the sea otters, Splotch," he whispered. Jeffy hopped down from the park's carousel and swam to his mother. He turned to wave at Splotch just as the carousel music started to play. Splotch and the other carousel animals began their up and down motion, taking other children on new adventures.'
