As with many of my paintings, I sketched 'Into the Wind - Freckles Giraffe' back in 2012. (It really does take me quite a while to finish my artwork). The background was an experiment that eventually began to flow like a strong breeze was blowing. I know real giraffes don't have long manes, but the fluttering red strands accent the giraffe's neck like flickering red flames.
