After finishing this gal, (she is one of the Grevy zebra mares at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo) I had to take a break from painting all of her stripes. The painting went nameless for a week. Very unusual for me since I have a name in mind when I start to sketch the artwork. Originally, all that popped into my head was an old AC/DC song. The nameless mare became sort of an enigma. A zebra riddle. What's Black on White and Red All Over? My latest painting 'The Zebra Riddle' of course!
