When I painted this design Valentine's Day was coming soon so I chose to create something with a heart. Looking for inspiration I searched for images of Norwegian Rosemaling and Tole art, because these kinds of designs lend well to the unique properties of painting with yarn. I drew half the design on paper, transferred it to the canvas, flipped the design over and traced the other half to get a pretty symmetrical pattern. I got lost in the creation of this piece for about 6 hours. As always, I let the yarn "tell me" how it wants to fit into the shapes. This art is framed and ready to hang.
