Bryce Canyon National Park is full of amazing, fantastic hoodoo shapes. Natural Bridge is one of the main viewpoints from the park drive. I looked through my yarn stash and chose these vibrant colors to create an impression of the arch. (I use my own photographs as references) I use the yarn to describe the direction of a shape or to depict the texture. Everything in the painting is deliberate yet, because yarn is such an unique medium, I must work with its intrinsic limitations, which is a fun challenge.
