This piece is part of a series of little sculpture birds with flower vases.
The sculptural vase & flowers I turned so that it leans toward the bird, friendly-like, while the butterfly peeks out from behind.

I set up this still life in my studio to teach a watercolor class. The painting that resulted from that demonstration came out quite nice and I gave it to the student. Then I did this same composition again with my full focus of attention and this piece is the result of that effort.

I've been collecting little bird sculptures to use in still life paintings. I also have a fun collection of florals that my sister-in-law creates. The 2 elements together are cute and fun to draw and paint.

I've been drawing all my life and enjoy it still. I especially like how ink drawing and watercolor look together.

My intention with this series is to create fun, happy, playful art that I hope brings smiles to those who view them.
