I've been to areas with lakes filled with glacial melt water and they are a beautiful light, silty green; so this reminds me of one of those lakes, surrounded by snow or ice. And it also reminds me of turquoise and malachite jewelry surrounded with silver. What does it remind you of? The poured paint is thick in the "lake" area and came out thinner in the rest of the piece, so you can see the canvas texture around the lake shape. I've always been fascinated with how the landscape looks from the air. Now we have Google Maps and can see the landscape from the air anytime we want, which can be very inspiring. Yet this is a poured painting, which develop natural forms all the time. It is really fun to watch these shapes form. Story: On November 8, 2018 the Camp Fire destroyed our home, offices, my art studio and all my art that was still in stock, over 175 pieces. In 2019 I had the opportunity to go to a studio and do some paint pouring. It was a wonderful way to be creative, have fun, and not think about the losses. As of this writing, it is July 2020, I have a new studio and am starting to create art again.
