Bryce Canyon National Park is full of amazing, fantastic hoodoo shapes. My telephoto shot of these hoodoos looked interesting because of the lighting effects and the angle of the distant slope. I looked through my yarn stash and chose these vibrant colors to create an impression of what I saw. I also think it is fun that some of these hoodoo shapes look like people. I use the yarn to describe the direction of a shape or to depict the texture. Everything in the painting is deliberate yet, because yarn is such an unique medium, I must work with its intrinsic limitations.
