I loved hiking around Arches National Park. I love the arch formations and the colors. I enjoy painting these scenes in all sorts of media. In this artwork I used the texture of the yarn to describe the direction and shapes of the rocks. Everything in the painting is deliberate yet, because yarn is such an unique medium, I must work with its intrinsic limitations, which is a fun challenge. I yarn painted the other side or view of this same arch in Skyline Arch #1. It is one of the arches in the park that can be viewed from both directions.
