    A trip to Toadstool Hoodoos, in southern Utah near Kanab, provided both a fun hike with my friends (Heather posed for this one) and lots of interesting photos from which to create art.
    I start by drawing with a graphite pencil on 140 lb Strathmore series 400 watercolor paper and then painting with watercolors.
    These hoodoos are mushroom shaped rock formations made of different layers of sandstone and are reported to be over 30 million years of erosion to have made them.
    I enjoy creating on the small ACEO (Art Cards Editions and Originals, based on trading card size), so when I saw that the January 2025 Challenge was to create ACEOs I got busy looking through my photo file for suitable subjects, and I have a lot of photos from travels in Utah.
