This is a view of Buffalo New York from the observation deck at City Hall. Architecture is always a challenge to paint because the perspective has to be accurate. My favorite part of this painting was capturing the blueish purple for the landscape off in the distance. This is called "atmospheric perspective" which is when the atmosphere makes the distant landscape appear to be lighter and color and usually there's a shift in color too (such as blue purple in this case).
