Media: and gouache on paper
Size: 10x8 in
I have painted Ellicott Creek many times, but on this occasion I was interested in capturing the reflections in the water. The colors that can be found in the water are numerous, the silvery reflections are created by the color of the sky. The green colors are created by the reflections of the trees, and the parts with the least amount of reflection reveal the murky browns of the creek bed.
The majority of the painting was completed with transparent watercolor with some highlights added in with Gouache.
