Chinese lanterns used to grow freely in the wild near my previous apartment. Actually, the landlord was a retired florist so I think she may have had something to do with introducing them to the wild. Anyways, this is a very simple composition. I think the secret to making flat areas of color interesting is to use bold brushstrokes and to vary the colors.
