Media: Acrylic on paper
Size: 8x10 in
(I started this auction with a low price of $50. If nobody else bids on it you may get a great deal!)
It’s difficult to judge the lightness or darkness of a color against the pure white of the paper so many artists will coat a blank canvas with a solid color before they begin. Here, I used cadmium red which creates little bits of the red at the edges of some of the shapes. However, pure cadmium red can be somewhat irritating to look at for extended periods of time and it can be difficult to judge colors against. Toned grounds are typically a more neutral color for this reason.
