This scene is of Ellicott Creek at Island Park in Williamsville New York. Sometimes when I get too bogged down in detail in a painting, the next painting is usually a lot looser. This keeps things interesting and prevents me from getting stuck in a rut.
Nature scenes can usually be painted in a free and expressionistic manner so with this painting I I decided to play around with looser brushstrokes and washes of color.
